The source is Otto Kumm, "Vorwärts, Prinz Eugen!" A better copy of the same photo can be found at Bundesarchiv, Bild 146-1973-092-18.balkanguy44 wrote: ↑30 Jan 2019, 17:19Soldiers of the Handschar Division with pack horses, May 1944.

Re: Some SS "Handschar" photo-infos
I've found it in the Bundesarchiv, so I thought it's the source.
Thanks, Ivan.

Cheers. As you can see, it's a different copy. Not only that it's less complete, but the imperfections (scratches etc) are different too. You will often find different copies of the same images in various archives, publications and collections. So it's always best to credit the true source.
(This may seem like splitting hairs, but it isn't. There are authors who wish to use the best possible copies of certain photos in their works, so crediting an archive that actually contains a high quality copy as a source of someone else's lower quality copy may be misleading to them.)

Hello, Huska
It looks like a routine ID check conducted by soldiers of the “Prinz Eugen” and “Handschar” Division in Bosnia, 1944.

Interesting...at first I thought this was a shot from 1943 and the recruitment drive but it seems to be from 1944 after all.
The Handschar division first met Prinz Eugen during Unt. Maibaum in the area of Han Pijesak (April 1944). The bottom screenshot is from a film reel (unknown source thus far) of the same scene.
