Hello, Ninoo

Good pictures. Is it possible for you to post them in a higher resolution? I think everyone would appreciate that.

No. Photos published in the divisional magazine were taken by divisional photographers.
Photos that were published in the national press were taken by Kriegsberichter (war correspondents).

None of these photos can be found in the Kriegsberichter archive. But most of them can be indeed found in Yad Vashem, as was mentioned before more than once. Huska, you haven't been paying attention. Now, please, enough with the scans from Bernwald's "Muslime in der Waffen-SS", as I already noted before. It's a newly released book, it's not right to copy so many of its pages here or elsewhere. Please be more considerate of the author and the forum. You promised you'd get better... :(

Cheers,
Ivan

It's because the photographers often stood next to each other. One was taking pictures for the national press, one for the divisional purposes.

Try replacing "that often" with "anymore" and it'll be ok ;) It's not about how often you copy someone else's material but how much.

Ivan

This picture (just from another perspective) appears in the book “Für Prophet und Führer. Die islamische Welt und das dritte Reich” by David Motadel, but Motadel gives us no information about the officer/soldier who was buried in this picture. The only information we can get from his book is that it was taken in 1944.

Maybe someone else knows more?

Note: In the background the division’s commander Sauberzweig can be seen as well as civilians.

Maybe it is not a Handschar member/soldier but rather some civilian or a parent of the Handschar soldier.
