Hello, Ivan - Huska - DFrolov1992

I’ve thought about all the things you guys wrote and something came to my mind. When for example the Mufti visited the division - the Germans surely made some documents about his civilian companions etc. Maybe such documents could help you (or us all) to identify these civilians - with names it’s easier to identify someone than with nothing.

Hello, Huska

If my memory serves right, the left one was taken in late 1943 and the right one in 1944? I doubt that it is the same person..

Hello, Huska & BG44

1st photo = Oct. 1943
2nd photo = Nov. 1943 (he's listening to the grand mufti there)

They're both wearing glasses, but it isn't known whether the person in the 2nd photo was an imam. It could be the same person, but it's hard to tell due to the poor quality. Their (crooked) noses look the same. The chin looks a bit different, but then again the person on the left has his mouth opened and the other closed.

Hello everyone,

If there are any more concrete leads, please post them! By playing the guessing game, I want to say that I don't believe these 2 are the same person, based on their facial characteristics. Apart from the crooked nose, the eyebrows, the eyes and the overall appearance of the chin don't give me any hints. However, the quality is extremely poor, so I can't conclude on this.

Hello, Filip

See the addition (edit) to my last post, we wrote at the same time. Depending on one's teeth, the shape of the chin might radically change by opening/closing the mouth (see also the addition below, on the right; it's blurry, but the shape of the chin, now with mouth closed, matches). This could very well be the same person - but it does not help in his identification since he's unidentified in the other photo as well.

Hello, Huska

We can’t just guess who he is..

By the way, here some information I found on Sirčo:

He was born 26 August 1919 in Sarajevo. He served in the Armed Forces of the Independent State of Croatia as “Hauptmann”. Then he joined the Waffen-SS in 1943. According to different sources he died after being ambushed by Partisans.

(Source: http://obistproject.blogspot.com/2013/0 ... 2.html?m=1)

Mr Lepre mentioned that he was killed in an ambush too.
“I have heared that he was lured to the spot by a woman, but this is unknown.” - G. Lepre

Hello everyone,
Dear Huska - please do not meddle with historical photographs! If you have any "theories" , make a post, ask a question, start a conversation. By doing what you're doing, you're allowing uninformed individuals to take your photo (which we don't even know if it's true) and place it on the internet as a "fact". Ivan was already warning you about this.
Cheers,
Filip
