Re: SS-Division "Handschar" photos
Is there any particular reason you are mass posting images with no sourcing? This is completely against the rules of the site and will quickly lead to disciplinary action being taken against you. Please go back and attribute sources to these pictures.
Further postings of images without sourcing them correctly will see them deleted without further warning.

Re: SS-Division "Handschar" photos
Hello, Admin-handzar.jimdo
You've been asked to respect the forum rules and post sources for each image weeks ago (here) and you seemingly agreed to it. In the past several hours, you've made 21 unsourced posts. Please understand that (proper) sources are crucial, without them the images are largely worthless.
I've also kindly asked you not to use material from my blog without crediting sources; the last image you posted was digitally restored by me, with all the dirt and scratches carefully and manually removed, using several additional images as layers (a slow process that people charge fees for, you know), and posted on my blog for free, in its original black and white form - and now I find it here with source credits cut off, badly enlarged (blurred) and terribly, incorrectly colourised. It looks ridiculous now!
Please don't do that anymore, colourise or share badly colourised images (for starters, no one wore black fezzes, they were red or field-grey). It's toying with history. Just leave black and white photos be. Every detail counts and wrong colour can be misleading as any other misinformation.
Ivan

Re: SS-Division "Handschar" photos
Dear Ivan,
you should react calmly about these photo copies, that would be my advice.
I remember the first photos of the "Handschar" in the early 1970s, my friend T. owned a book on the subject.
The friend was in search of the subject in later years, already in the very early 1970s, the boy lost his direction.
Having taken hunting trips to Yugoslavia with his father, T. shot the first wild boar at the age of 10 years there.
There were contacts here in Germany to former relatives, one or the other "Fez" appeared here as well, and ended up in the well-known German collections.
Even then extremely expensive "Militaria", untraceable for a simple collector, even then every piece of "Handschar" was outside the price limits, too expensive.
I remember German collectors from those years who kept these fezes in glass showcases, dust-free, touching them was forbidden!
Sick, totally sick, but it sure has changed little.
I found a very small early 18th century liquor bottle in the neighborhood today, Bohemian glass, hand blown and masterfully engraved, a real treasure that someone wanted to get rid of...
