First one show Sigerbai Kuscherbaj, volunteer from Turkistan.

Thank you Gentlemen. Here is another first pattern in wear. Although the second pattern was autorised in 1943, I am searching for that elusive period photo!

The interesting note on the first pattern patch is that the writing was done in Arabic - while MAJORITY of Turkistan volunteers spoke Turkik. That was the reason for the second patch. T

Does Munoz mention which is the SS unit of Turkistan volunteer?

Munoz says that the man is from the Ostmuselmanische SS - Regiment. Another photo in the series where the Turkistani arm patch is visable, he states that the men are volunteers with the Ostturkischen Waffen Verband der-SS.
