After the war allies gave all those Turcic soldiers to Russians back. Russians executed all of them even their families. It is a tragedy. Every one speaks about ARMENIAN genocide, but no body knows about the fate of poor Turks executed by Russians.

Tatars, Cerkess and other Turkic tribes suffered too much. We never forget that sufferings.

OK dear Semenov I dont want to break your hearth. Instead ı prefere to break by own hearth.
They were Soviets not Russians.

On the other hand I want to remind you that if we say :
Ottomans we understand Turks If we say Ottomans builded in 1802 at Serbian town of Nish a tower of human skulls killing the Serbian outlaws we can not say that the ottoman commander in schief the Pasha was a converted greek or Armenian or arap. Every body knows that he was a Turk.
Nazi: germany
Napoleon: France
Conquestors:Spaniards
and finaly
Russians: red Army: Soviets: Bolschewicks:Comunists: Reds, iron curtain

TS's nota: the names of the states may change but the population that makes a state never changes.
Nazis gone but Germans are still here
Tsar, Bolschewicks, soviets gone but Russians are still here
Ottomans gone but Turks are still here
Havew a nice summer.

Actually not true. Just finished Mark Mazower's book Salonica which wrestles with this very issue.
Ottomans gone but Turks are still here
Again, sweeping and somewhat incorrect generalization. The Ottoman Empire is gone, yes. The Turkish state is it's decendant; and Turkish national identity was very much deliberately manufactured.

Hi,
Does somebody know what insignia the mullah at left has in his left lower cuff? Not expert at all in soviet uniforms, but some soviet uniforms carried insignias at lower cuff. So could it ex-soviet tunic with the insignia removed? But the tunic looks very german to me. Or is it a scratch in the photo?

Thanks in advance.
