Hello,
I can try to find that for you but would like to know
- From where you got the names
- Why would you like to get those details.

To be honest, all those names look unknown to me... but I know people who are more equipped.
Regards
Daniel

Hi, Juanjo,
OK, I will see if my contacts can find some more precisions.
For your archives, see below the names of the French Waffen SS who attended the officer training at the Bad-Tolz SS-Junkerschule end of 1943.
Regards
Daniel

Honorable members,
Juanjo project could become an Axishistory project, what do you think?
Maybe this thread could become "sticky" and pile up names of various nationalities till we get *all* of them.
If Juanjo, for sure, agree also to post whatever he has, to compile whatever we post and then send the overall outcome to Marcus :-)
Regards
Daniel

Hi Daniel

In the book "Carlomagno. Voluntarios franceses en la Waffen SS", the autor, Carlos Caballero Jurado said:

"Ni Darnand ni Doriot, ambos reconocidos como Sturmbannführer por los alemanes, obtuvieron plaza en la División SS "Charlemagne"

Hi Juanjo,
Do I look so clever to you that you think I can read Spanish?

However, being a latinos like you, I can go a bit through a latin language and guess it means something like:

"Neither Darnand nor Doriot, however recognised as Sturmbannführer by the Germans, ever participated actively to the División SS Charlemagne".

It my "translation" is correct, right for Darnand but, sorry and with all due respect to Carlos Caballero Jurado, wrong for Jacques Doriot.

He was first a politician, the boss of the neo-nazi PPF (French Popular Party) and his main target all along the war was to take power in France, turn the country into a Fascist one and join the Axis. He fought in the Eastern Front within the LVF who was composed of many PPF members but never joined the Waffen SS nor was given a title there.

In June 44, a number of PPF members assisted the German forces in Normandy as liaison agents or intelligence agents. Doriot visited them wearing his LVF uniform and then retreated with the Germans till Germany were he was killed on February 22, 1945 by a British airplane attack on his car.

See the photos attached: Werhmacht LVF uniform, not SS.

Regards
Daniel
