German use of railway guns agains't Britain
Could someone tell me more about this? I am positive that railway guns were used to shell areas in southmost Britain.

As far as I know - they only had one railway-gun with that capacity - the 21 Cm K 12.Christian W. wrote:Could someone tell me more about this? I am positive that railway guns were used to shell areas in southmost Britain.
Ian Hogg writes that a German shell landed at Rainham (near Chatham) in Kent in late 1940. The point of impact was 88 kilometres from the nearest point on the French coast. There were similar fragments of shells - recovered from areas of Dover and Eastbourne....cheers, Varjag
