2 May 1945, a commando of volunteers is charged to make jump the native house of Adolf Hitler in Braunau. The group is attacked by the Americans of division " Black Cats " at the entry of the city. Result two dead: SS-Scharführer Koenig, the soldier of Wehrmacht Johann Schütz and Hans Hellwagner, a leader of Hitlerjugend. A witness : the farmer Herr Metz. Who knows some more about this fact ?

The Black Cats was the nickname for the 13th US Armoured Division and the divisional command post was set up in Hitlers house on May 2nd 1945.

Interesting - 'the objective is Hitler's birthplace..' CHARGE!!!!!
Was the former bakery/rented-flats/derelict - 'heavily defended?' Or are we talking postwar B/S here? Who in heavens name would defend a perfectly average multi-story residential building - two days after the glorious birthee of that edifice had died - and everything was crumbling about the remaining 'defenders' ?
