Base V1 161 poteau de Montauban

Post by jocrobin » 04 Mar 2018 10:28

Bonjour

Certainement. Note this is an English speaking forum :)

Hello jocrobin

We are looking foreward to follow the progress of this very interesting initiative :-)

I have already visited a couple of sites, the best preserved at the time was the Val Ygot site, and I see that there is a group there as well.

Will certainly visit them in the future, as I travel in France since 1996 and at least one time pr. year sometimes more :-)

Please post news about this - and pictures if possible.

Best regards
Kurt

Theres the richthaus and the launchpad, but the two last pictures show some constructions that I have never seen before?

What are they?

The penultimate image is the hexacgonal firing bunker. For the other two buildings I do not know, but the second has a tank in the back where we often see two big pipes. I also attach the photos two other constructions that are very different from the previous ones
There is also the construction with trees in which was the water reserve

Are you going to cut the trees to reabilitate? What a shame to sacrifice trees for such dubious memorial.

No trees have been and will not be cut.
You who comment on this project and who see only one thing is to turn these places into a skate board, I can just tell you
Beyond the tourist aspect, this project has the ambition to maintain the duty of memory and to pay a tribute to the inhabitants of our territory disappeared as a result of failed launches or Allied bombing. civilians have often been forgotten, and the main purpose of this circuit is to pass to teme by the cemeteries and war memorial.
This testimony must be marked for future generations so that this will NEVER happen again.

Hello

This one is Site Nr. 161 Poteau de Montauban / - which other numbers are the next 21 V1 sites :-) ?

Are they all in the Blangy-sur-Bersle und Aumale area?

And - is there any V2 launch sites in that area?

Best regards
