Order of Battle for US Army in the ETO does include a list of Regiments towards the end (I thought there might be clue in there somewhere, but didn't have the time to schlep through it the other night).

This is the full list of Inf Regts in the ETO described as having no parent Division -

3rd, 29th, 65th, 118th, 156th, 159th, 442nd and 474th.

So a few more on the list given above. I've seen a few references to separate US Inf Regts but never really understood where they fitted into things in the ETO.
