Battle of Lille 1940

#1

Post by ewir54.69 » 25 Nov 2019, 11:50

Hi! I'm interested in the western front of 1940.
I am looking for information about the Battle of Lille on 25-30.05.1940. First of all, fights II. and VIII.AK.
May 29 11. ID attacked on the right wing of the corps between Lille and Haubourdin with IR 2. and 44 in the first line, and IR 23. protected the right flank of the corps. The division was in contact with the 1st ID of VIII. AK.
Do you have detailed information about the battles for Loos and Lille?
greetings

Hi guys!
In W. Haupt's book Sieg ohne Lorbeer I read that the 11th Infantry Division on 27.05.40 cleanses the host city of Lens. Do you have any details about these fights? greetings

Here's most of it!
"Quand Lille avait faim" written in 1945 by L.Détrez
"Lille 1939-1945" (Three volumes) by J.Caniot
"Mai 1940 Sang et larmes sur le Nord" By J-P.Visse
"Lille-Roubaix-Tourcoing sous l'occupation" G.Landry
"La bataille de Lille 1940" Y.Buffetaut (Ysec collection) The cheapest and the most technical
"Le nord pas de calais dans la main allemande" E.Dejonghe
"Tragédies en Flandres" By Chatelle

Most of these about the occupation! I think what you are looking for is "La bataille de Lille 1940", it's about the battle and not about the occupation :D
