Armed resistance in Austria (?)

#1

Post by Viktor.S » 08 May 2020, 16:00

Hello everyone,

Aside from ethnic Slovenes (e.g. in Carinthia), was there much armed resistance against the Axis in Austria during the war but before the entry of Allied troops into Austria in 1945? I have heard of some non-violent resistance by Austrians, such as spreading anti-Nazi propaganda or sheltering Jews, but I am curious if any Austrians (apart from the Slovene minority) took up armed activities such as sabotage, assassination, raids, etc.

Thanks.
