Many free-for-download unit histories are there: https://digicom.bpl.lib.me.us/ww_reg_his/
Certainly the best source for unit histories packaged after the war and sold/distributed to veterans of said units. Quality, reliability and depth vary a lot.

British and European copyright is for seventy years. I would expect a lot of out of copyright titles to appear on line for free in the next few years. Some probably already are.
