Looking for information as to the level of artillery support available to the two phase 1 divisions following the night attack, specifically at the time of the German counterattack around 12:30pm.
Which guns were still in range and which were pulling up stakes for the move forward?

Re: Artillery Support Totalize
Digressing with a technical question. During combat ops the US artillery moved in echelon or incrementally. Preferred practice was for have one or two batteries moving in each battalion & the HQ of the battalion or group split, half moving & half continuing ops. We were trained to send one or two cannon of a battery ahead with the advance party to the next battery position so continual if partial fire support could be maintained. What was the Royal Artillery habit?
