Fighting in Colombelles 18 July 1944 Goodwood

Hello Everyone

RE: 192. Panzergrenadier Regiment in Goodwood

I am curious as to the role of 192. Panzergrenadier-Regiment in Goodwood, especially its batallion dispositions on 18 July, and just how much it fought the advancing Canadian 8th Infantry Brigade in Colombelles. In Mondeville, II./Pz Gr Rgt 192 is mentioned in a radio message as "holding to the last man, long live the Fuhrer, ect" - then they withdraw.

The regiment then appears to have disengaged, and appears on the eastern side of the Goodwood salient with the rest of its division in St Pair by 19 July 1944. (It must have driven around the LAH to the south and then north ?)

In the 21. Panzerdivision books there is not a lot of detail about it. The subjects is given a basic overview.

Any info would be welcome. I have the books, but the batallion positions (I./Pz Gr Rgt and II./Pz Gr Rgt 192) are vague if any info is given.

Do link me in if this subject has been addressed in a post previously

Many thanks

Best and Happy new Year
