Wooden Horse Book and Movie differences

3 UK POWS escaped from Stalag Luft III; one of them wrote an account called "The Wooden horse; he also wrote a screenplay for a 1950 movie version. There are difference between the Book and the movie versions: for example in the book version two of the escapers while trying to flee to Denmark are forced to kill a German sentry who suprized them at the border; in the movie version the escapers hid out on the docks a t Copenhagen and they suprized by a German sentry ..and are forced to kill him..

Who knew where the border was back then compared to where and what Copenhagen was. I would think it was easier for the public (watching the film) to identify the capital of Denmark rather than a border somewhere in southern Jutland. Film manuscripts often have small changes to them so viewers of all sorts have a better chance of understanding. Just my observation/thoughts.
