German troop transfers to East in 1945.
I was wondering if anyone ever saw some more detailed data or maybe is knowledgable on the subject. It seems a fairly common and accepted talking point, that is raised in the aftermath of Ardennes Offensive or Oder-Vistula operation but I don't think I ever saw anything that goes in depth on the question, either in terms of hard data or maybe just in terms of specific units that were shifted in that period. 6th Panzer Army and its (some?) constituent units is the obvious occurrence, was there more and how much more ?

That's a good question.
There were more than just the four SS Panzer divisions moved east, but I would have to dig. Pretty sure several infantry divisions went east as well. Himmler's staff in the Oberrhein command also moved east and were used to form a new AOK headquarters IIRC.
Cheers

Good evening,
You had 269 Infanterie division from Alsace, and at least 711 and 712 Infanterie Division from Holland.
Regards

German divisions were also transferred from Norway.

Also: the 192. PzGr Regt of 21 PzD was already on the eastern front (along with supporting elements). It did not participate in the Alsace counter-offensive in Jan 1945, unlike the Kampfgruppe built around 125. PzGr Regt under Von Luck which did.

Just wanted to say thanks for all the contributions. Added to my scant knowledge a lot.

A big number of units but aircrafts also i start by them from West arrive end january 750 aircrafts about : 650 Me-109-Fw-190 and 100 fighters-bombers Fw-190
Luflotte 6 in Poland and also East-Prussia... have 12/01 : 822 aircrafts then 750 it is a big reinforcement and was efficient to slow Soviets units with interdiction missions etc...
For units from Divisons up to KG about 50 ! arrive in Rft or re build or new from 16/01 PZK GD arrive near Lodz until about 10 february when start Operation Solstice in Pomerania.
Many many but in general of low qualities or stand up in the rusch provisional units also circumstance units while some was capable the last Wermacht miracle stop the Red Army to only 70 Km of Berlin and they have used everything !

Re: German troop transfers to East in 1945.
In terms of divisions, these were German units that transferred to the East in 1945. The list for the Western Front transfers is complete. Besides the two listed transferred from Italy, there may be other divisions, but I know those two were sent to Hungary in late 1944 and early 1945.
From Western Front:
Nov-Dec '44 - 711 Inf Div, 182 Reserve Div
Jan-Feb '45 - 1 SS Pz Div, 2 SS Pz Div, 9 SS Pz Div, 10 SS Pz Div, 12 SS Pz Div, 21 Pz Div, 25 PG Div, FBB Div, FGB Div, 269 Inf Div. 275 Inf Div, 344 VG Div, 712 Inf Div
From Italy:
Nov-Dec '44 - 44 Inf Div (Hoch und Dochmeister)
Jan-Feb '45 - 356 Inf Div
