My thoughts of Hitlers order, which are large in conflict with that of the aricle above:

Thanks Christian And _Kaan_,

So you think Hitler was more pre-occupied with logistical matters rather than actually trying to come to peace terms with Britain by not Destroying the BEF

Thanks guys

Graham

Hitler wasn't all about logistics (actually, I have a feeling that he wasn't very much aware of their importance at all, given his limited experience with strategic warfare), but that it was what he was adviced to do.

Since Hitler had stated as a goal for Fall Geld that the BEF had to be captured/destroyed, I simply don't believe in it.

Furthermore, wouldn't it give Hitler more of an edge that he held a large amount of the BEF as prisoners, with peace negotiations in mind, rather than risking showing himself as a weak military force by not displaying the capability of capturing the BEF?

After all, I consider it highly unlikely that the BEF would be 'destroyed' rather than 'captured', if they had no way out...
