Hi,
I'd really like to read some casulties lists from the Battle of Britain. Would be great if there would be the Luftwaffes report and the british reports to compare.
Regards,
Baltasar
Need Info about the BoB
The Jagdwaffe claims lists can be found at http://tonywood.cjb.net/
Look for the link to "West 1939-41, Issue 1"
The Jagdwaffe (ie not including the bombers) claimed 1,998 single engined fighters shot down, British losses were just over 900 to all causes on operations, including bomber's defensive fire. The claims on this list appear to be only confirmed claims, or nearly all confirmed claims. For example, I checked 5 or so well known Luftwaffe aces on this list and every claim on here was confirmed, though they may be a small number that are not. I understand the Luftwaffe archives are in a poor state.
The RAF had confirmed claims of around 2,500 Luftwaffe aircraft (this includes anti aircraft claims, and even one from balloons), against actual luftwaffe losses of around 1,800 on operations to all causes.
There is an RAF site that gives the daily losses and claims of the RAF at http://www.raf.mod.uk/bob1940/calendar.html
