German Order of Battle on D-Day - Help us completing it!

Hello everyone,

I have been helping a friend of mine to build a complete OOB of the german forces in Normandy on the eve of 6.6.44 and even though we have been able to found many Kommandeure names and unit locations, we are still missing a lot so if anyone here could help us fill the holes, it would be greatly appreciated :)

You can find it here: (the site is french but the OOBs are in german)

Visit Zetterlings website, get his book, and take a look at HPS Sims "Panzer Campaigns: Normandy '44". A combo of those 3 will give you a pretty accurate OoB.

Hi Stephane, an excellent site, I've referred to it before. Thanks, you have answered some questions for me. Did you see the posting I made regarding 7 AOK last year? If not let me know and I will email it to you.

According to Tessin & "The German Army at DDay-Fighting the Invasion", the 795th (Georgian) Inf Btn served within the 709th Infantry Division as the IV/Fest.Gren.Rgt 739 ?

For what I know this Bn was attached to the 243. ID up to 14 May 1944 and located in the Hague peninsula before being shifted in the IR 919 sector.
