opération Ring 10 january-2 february

Operation Ring January 10-February 2, 1943
I am currently reading one of D.Glantz's books on the battle of Stalingrad and in particular that concerning Operation Ring, the destruction of the 6th German army surrounded in the region of Stalinrad and in the city itself. But the fights are difficult to follow for lack of detailed maps, especially as regards the western regions (Karpovka, Marinovka), southwest, south (Tsybenko, Elkhi) and north of the encirclement pocket. Ultimately the regions outside the city of Stalingrad itself ....
would anyone have detailed maps of these areas ??
thank you

merci

Hello

Thank you very much Art, as usual your information is superb ...
on the other hand on the map of Stalingrad I miss the sector concerning the salient of Marinovka / karpovka and it is that which interests me the most! is there a map concerning this sector ??

thanks also to Dann Falk, but I can't read the map on the site in detail ... too bad your book only concerns the 64th Shumilov Army, if you make another more complete one on this battle seen from the Soviets side but concerning all the armed forces of the Don Front, I would be interested

good day to all

Glad you looked at my site.

You should also think about the Stalingrad Battle Atlas series, four volumes so far, by Anton Joly. You can find them on Amazon.com. A nice set of maps, photos and text in each book covering the battle for the city.

Hello

thank you Art

Dann, I actually have the volumes of Anton Joly on the battle of Stalingrad, but there are above all (and that's already good) maps of the city ...., but what interests me is is maps of the western sectors of the Staligrad region where the 24th, 65th and 21st Soviet armies fought against the 8th corps (44th, 76th and 113th divisions) and the 14th armored corps (29th, 3rd motorized divisions and 376th division ) and for the moment I cannot find a complete map of these sectors

have a good day

What scale do you need ?
Here is a fragment of German period map covering Marinovka - Karpovka. (Click on it to load the map).

Thank you all for your efforts to find me a solution
I am not looking for a scale in particular, but a map that does not hold on A4
It is very difficult to navigate with the book of D Glantz because it uses the English or German names to designate the same village or a Soviet city, it also uses landmarks (Marker?) Or hill, which are hard to spot! as much as we have a lot of detailed maps of the city of Stalingrad, as much as it is difficult to have a detailed map of the whole region where the German forces were surrounded ...... salient of Marinovka, western region of Rossoska river, karpovka sector and south Tsybenko-Elkhi region, north sector (11th German army corps)

have a good day

There is an excellent map here - cluster of several 1:100000 Soviet maps. Every hill, landmark and village. Large map 110MB.
