Hi all,
http://www.ebay.de/itm/370659849512?ssP ... 1423.l2649
I bought it, it's on it's way. Anyway, the sign says Moskau 100 km, Hannover 2267 km. The sign is also to be found in Rolf Hinze's Bug Beresina Moskwa in the foto section. This one (or one that looked like that) was auctioned of on eBay too. That was in 2006, the seller said back then the picture was taken near 'Petrov'. Sold for €60 (or higher) or so, so I had a bargain for this one.
Anyone who has an opion where the picture was taken? Any ideas? '2267' is just too obvious... It was put down by members of the 267. I.D. in 1941. My guess the sign stood somewhere on the street Smolensk - Moscow. But where excately?

There are no significant landmarks on this picture which makes identification impossible, however assuming information you provided is correct (267ID in 1941), there is a small village called Petrovo about 13km north of Moshaisk at location 55.616N, 36.074E. I found it on 1:100000 Russian map N-37-013. It is exactly 98km from the Red Square 55.752936N, 37.6221E.

Great!!! According to Hinze Moshaisk was reached as one of the villages they entered before the collapse of the division and their retreat. So if 1 (Petrovo) + 2 (Moshaisk) = 2
I checked the location on Google maps, I guess you're right. Thanks Greg!
