As follows from original documents by the start of "Uranus" one tank battalion (506) was in action in Stalingrad with a part of its tanks. By the end of November 1942 several tanks that were not ferried over Volga joined the main forces of the 235 TBr, the remaining part of the battalion stayed at Stalingrad.
