Hello,

I bought a summer house to southern part of estonia and find wilitary positions in the forest. I found out that these where russians defend positions, built at the beginning of august 1944. But around that specific area there where no active battles going on. Now i´m interested about german positions but I have no clue where to look at. I know that these times germans XXVII army corps where around there. I´m interested to find any situation maps or war diarys from these days. Specific timescale i´m interested is from july to september 1944 and area is around city called Antsla. If you have any hints where to look at, let me know. Would be extremely grateful.

XXVIII AK and subordinate divisions materials for summer 1944 have generally not survived (maybe something will emerge yet from TsAMO fond 500). Here is almost all you can find for XXVIII AK for this period: http://militaar.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=17224

Situtation maps can be probably found among 18th Army materials but I'm not sure if they are detailed enough to satisfy your interest.
