Ok, I've got it. What I don't understand is whether Stug. Br. GD had any assault guns present in mid-January.
Also:
1) "Brandeburg" has 21 StuG IV shipped to its AT battalion on 1.1.45. Where they actually present with the division?
2) GD had 21 Pz. IV lg. shipped to its AT battalion on 10.1.45. Did they arrive to it and were they present with the division when it was committed to battle (15 January 45)?

1) Yes, 21 Stug IVs combat ready in BR's PZJ-battalion on Jan 15th.

Stug Brigade G.D. had 35 x Stug III and StuH and was attached to BR. It was to be replaced by II.Btl./Pz.Rgt. "BR" but this never came.

The I./Batl./Pz Rgt "BR" was the renamed 1st battalion from the 26th Panzer Division. It was equipped with 45 Panthers.

I'll answer question 2 later.
Hi, Cult Iron, I cannot find the sources that confirmed Pz.Jg.Abt. Br had 21 StuG IV RFA on 15th Jan 1945, what sources come from, may you tell me ? Thank

Hi, Forbin, thank for your reply. When I go through this post carefully, and I get the answer from other post : Stu.Brig GD never get those StuG and StuH and Pz.Jg Abt GD cannot join the division in Janauary . Perhap only Pz.Jg Abt Br is still in question to me, did it join Pz Gren Div Br in mid January 1945 and how many AFV operational ? Thank

In response to an earlier post by Art (see: viewtopic.php?f=55&t=235679&start=45) detailing an overview of the armoured strength of Army Gruppe Mitte 30/12/1944-15/01/1945, Stu.G.Abt 1006 (L) previously described as present but with an unknown assignment is shown to be subordinated to the 551 VGD/IX AK as at 14/01/1945 most likely in place of its own Stu.G. Kp. 1551, which was still outfitting in Milowitz as at 07/01/1945. (see following links: http://wwii.germandocsinrussia.org/de/n ... ect/zoom/4 & http://wwii.germandocsinrussia.org/de/n ... ect/zoom/5).

Hello Kelvin,

I'm still searching. The 4th Army OOB (8/1/45) only shows 2/Stu.G. Bde. 185 subordindinated to the 547.VGD with its own Stu.Kp away forming see here: http://wwii.germandocsinrussia.org/de/n ... ect/zoom/9.
No sign as yet of Stu.G. Kp. 1233 with 286.ID/IX AK up to 6/1/45.

Cheers

Hello Kelvin,
To clarify, I have found no sign of Stu.G.Kp. 1233 serving with 286.ID/IX AK from early to mid January so far. The previously posted link dated 14/01/45 seems to confirm this (see: http://wwii.germandocsinrussia.org/de/n ... ect/zoom/4 ). Apologies, the 6/1/45 date I mentioned earlier was an error. Aside from 286.ID effectively lacking an Pz.Jag Abt. do you have something to suggest a link with Stu.G.Kp. 1233?

Cheers

HI, Don, as I know, Stu.Kp.1233 was Heerestruppen. The combat readiness of Heeresgruppe Mitte was less satisfactory : Pz.Jg.Kp of 21, 83, 129, 203. inf.Div. and 547 and 551.VolksGrenadier Divisions were still training in the rear and did not have opportunity to join the war on 13th Jan 1945. There was no Pz.Jg.Kp in 286.Inf division. That mean seven divisions did not have StuG or Jagdpanzer 38 on Jan 13 1945.

The AFV status of Heeresgruppe A seemed much better. Not counting so called z.b.v. divisions (600 series), All infantry division, including Gebirgs and Ski divisions all had StuG or Jagdpanzer 38 except 78.Volksturm Division and 359.Inf division.

Hello forum!
I am interested in HG Division, Flak RG, and how it was evacuated from East Prussia to Warnemünde / Travemünde. I read a short note in a book, that the HG Division was evacuated on 10 ships, one ship was headed for Copenhagen Denmark, and I am especially interested in information about this, since my father must have been on this ship. He was part of the HG Division, Flag Regiment. The rest 9 ships headed for Warnemünde / Travemünde and the HG division sent to the defence of Berlin. As I have read and understood. Anybody with more informations, or knowledge about where to find informations, about the part of HG div. Flag RG that headed to Copenhagen? Size, number of men, tasks etc.? If possible. Best regards.

For evacuation, if you mean Fsch.Panzer Division 1 HG , it was transfered to Heeresgruppe A in Lodz after Jan 13 1945. and kept fighting in southern Poland, Saxony and Czech area.

Regarding Fsch.Pz.Gren. Division 2 HG, I know its remant surrendered at East Prussia, perhap parts of division were evacuated into Denmark. I am not sure.
