Kalach on Don - Jul/Aug and Nov 1942

Post by funkymuppet » 11 Nov 2019, 14:24

Hi,

Can anyone point me to documents, maps etc. relating to the Battle of Kalach (Kalach on Don) in July/Aug 1942 and in November 1942 - the former the approach of the German 6th to Stalingrad, and the latter the encirclement of the German army during Operation Uranus.

I have various references in general history books but am looking for more detailed info relating to actual troop organization, events and maps if at all possible. Pointers to websites or other resources that may have detailed info would be great as well.

Many thanks,

JW

Greetings,

You never said if you wanted German or Russian unit info.

I have written a book covering the Russian 64th Army at Stalingrad 1942-43, its on Amazon. I describe in detail information about the 64th Army at an operational level just south of Kalach. The Russian/Soviet 62nd Army was fighting at Kalach. If you want/need related info about what was going on in the area, please give my book a look, as it might help out your research.

Hope this helps
Dann Falk
