Books about the Black Sea naval war?

Could anyone recommend some good books that go into detail on Axis and Soviet naval operations in the Black Sea region? I'm limited to sources in English.

Koslinski and Stanescu wrote three volumes on Romanian participation. They both served in the navy in WWII. The books are in Romanian, but not too difficult to gain a lot from. Recommended.

If they're in Romanian they're going to be extremely difficult for me to gain anything from...

If you speak any Latin-derived language like French, Spanish or Italian, it is not impossible.

In English the best is the final chapter of Third Axis, Fourth Ally by Axworthy, which is entirely devoted to the Romanian Navy in the Black Sea.

Cheers,

Sid.

Greetings,

You should check out: The Soviets as Naval Opponents 1941-1945 by Friedrich Ruge, published by Patrick Stephens, Cambridge 1979.

This is a very well written book and covers the topic nicely.

I don't, and neither do most folks where I come from :P

Thanks, I'll look it up.
