Axis espionage against the Soviets?

#1

Post by Komi » 07 Dec 2020, 14:26

Anyone willing to share some info on Axis espionage against the Soviets in Europe? Has there been anything written on it? I know the Japanese were sending spies over the Asian border despite having a neutrality pact with Russia, so I'd be very surprised if the Germans, Italians, or whoever in Europe didn't try the same thing, especially once they started fighting the Soviets. Turkey was a neutral country bordering the USSR, so I guess that could have been one potential jumping-off point for Axis agents going into Soviet territory...

Unternehmen Zeppelin was operated by RSHA VI CZ (SD Ausland).

Unternehmen WALLI was a similar operation by the Abwehr.
