Point 1 of day report 02.10.1942

The volume of fire was again high, especially at Gr.Schwedler. It could be covered from Army stocks.
In the night of 1/2.10 several air attacks with bombs and on-board weapons took place on the V.St.P. Nowo Alexejeskij . By direct hits, the barn of the AVL caught fire . The ration stocks contained in it were completely destroyed.
By immediate transport of rations from Tschir and Tschernyschkow, the rations gap will be closed again by 03.10.
By the continuous air attacks AOK 6 is forced to further and further decentralisation of the supply bases and dispersal of the supply goods stocked there. With the actual forces this is not possible anymore. It is therefore urgently requested to move up a further supply batallion and building forces as soon as possible because of the air threat.
AOK 6 points out that at the time 20 german divisions and 7 rumanian units have to be supplied."

It is requested to deliver 7,5 cm KwK lg in air transport because the consumption of this ammo is especially needed in increased measure in urban fighting by the Sturmgeschütze.

In the following ammo categories the Army stocks are exhausted:

The Army requests fast delivery because especially l.J.G and 8 cm mortar shells are fired a lot. At 7,5 cm KwK(lg) regular air supply is requested.

The train inflow was insufficient today.
The assigned glysanthin train F.Nr 494015, border crossing 20/21.9 has still not arrived in the Army sector. The need is urgent as in the night temperatures of -6 were measured and all vehicles have to stand in the open."

Point 1 of day report 05.10.1942

Normal volume of firing.
The inflow of trains is still fully insufficient and in no way covers the necessary need. A continuous decreasing of the ammo stocks cannot be avoided.AOK urgently requests to secure the daily inflow of 3 ammo trains, 1-2 fuel trains and 1-2 ration trains. The judgment of the supply is made more difficult because the allocation of ammo happens too late. So several ammo trains are reported moving up where journey number and content are unknown and it therefore is impossible to make a forward-looking ammo planning.
The deficiency in the following ammo categories continues:
l.J.G
8 CM Wgr
l.F.H 16
21 cm mortars
28 cm projectiles

225 shots 7,5 cm KwK lg arrived by airplane.Further supply necessary.

Normal firing.
The inflow of supply trains is still insufficient and covers neither the need for ammo as above all fuel.
The AOK was again not able to deliver enough fuel to the corps, so that the situation in this area is to be considered as very tight. A small improvement can be expected on 7.10.
AOK requests to increase the inflow of trains-above all with fuel and ammo- by all means and if necessary to push forward preferably ammo and fuel trains from the backlog that is suspected further back."

"Telex
From AOK6/OQu to 1)OKH /Gen.OQu
2) Command center B OKH/Gen.Qu
3) chief of staff AOK 6

Point 1 of day report 07.10.1942

Normal firing volume.
At 8 cm mortar shells and l.J.G there was an improvement. Ammo for 21 cm mortars, 10 cm Kan. still scarce. The to be expecected high volume of fire in a few days makes an increased supply of artillery ammo especially necessary.
7,5 cm KwK lg did not arrive. Fast air supply necessary because the Sturmgeschützabteiungen at LI AK are not operational anymore at the time becuse of lack of ammo.
Fuel situation very tight. The inflow does not allow a sufficient supply of the divisions anymore. The mobility is very much reduced and makes necessary displacements of the fast units impossible. AOK request an urgent remedy because otherwise the ordered regroupements in the area of Stalingrad cannot be executed. The delivery of winterclothing and the necessary supply before the mud period are also impaired by this.
The inflow of trains is still sluggish and not sufficient. Above all, AOK has the impression that the order of the trains happens without regard for the supply situation despite the fact that the necessity of the delivery of ammo and fuel was especially pointed out for for days .
The Army again points out the serious deficiency in weapons which makes it impossible to replace the losses. The train for bringing forward the reserves of material reserves still stocked in Charkow which was requested long-since, has not been authorised despite urgent appeals."
