From AOK6/OQu to 1)OKH /Gen.OQu
2) Command center B OKH/Gen.Qu
3) chief of staff AOK 6

Point 1 of day report 15.10.1942

The volume of firing was today again very high and will come close to the one of yesterday.
The high firing volume will continue in the next days. The Army requests to further move up an increased volume of ammo so that there is no pause in the feeding of the fight.
The train with l.F.H 18 is shortly expected in Tschir. Fast inflow of further l.F.H urgenty necessary so that the connection is secured because 1 ammo train is consumed in 2 days. Also regular inflow of mortar ammo is necessary because this type of ammo has special significance in urban fighting.
Fuel situation is still tight. Considerable lack of Diesel. Special allocation necessary because otherwise there will be disruptions in the supply traffic and by this unacceptable delays in the inflow to the troop are to be excpected.
AOK has no oats. Inflow of fodder grains not known until now. Soon remedy is requested."

Point 1 of day report 16.10.1942

Again very high firing volume in all ammo categories at the attack corps.
Covering of the consumption possible. Arrival of ammo trains in Tschir and Tschernyschkow was good. At a firing volume keeping at the same level which can be expected for the duration of a week,a regular supply, especially of artillery ammo is necessary in the former volume.
The fuel consumption has increased because of the use of tank units and the necessity of higher use of supply columns.
The inflow of the two pre reported fuel trains was delayed for several hours by bombing hits on the rail line west of Morosowskaja(emergency drop by an own aircraft). Despite the inflow of 2 fuel trains the fuel situation remains tight because of increased consumption. The fuel is only sufficient for the feeding of the operation Stalingrad while sharply curtailing all other consumers. Preparations for winter are barely possible because of lack of fuel."

Point 1 of day report 17.10.1942

Volume of firing as on the day before.
Beginning shortage in mortar ammo which is especially effective in the type of fighting in Stalingrad.
No ammo train arrived on the unloading railway stations of the Army on 17.10. Ammo for l.F.H still enough for 4 days. No further supply pre reported until now.
The fuel trains expected for 16.10 arrived on 17.10. Fuel situation slightly improved through this.
The fodder situation of the Army gives reason for serious concern. Loss of horses through exhaustion because of lack of fodder is rising. When the inflow of fodder is not strenghtened , losses as in the last winter are to be expected."

No fat
No fodder
Little fuel
Food for like 2 days?

Maybe should have stopped assault and started preparing for counter attacks/winter.

Point 1 of day report 18.10.1942

Firing volume as before.
Heavy rainfall severely obstructed the supply traffic.
AOK attempts to maintain the transshipment traffic Tschir-Loshki by using tractors, to move up from there by rail the supply goods for LI AK until railway station Gumrak and for IV AK to railway station Woroponowo.
The capacity of the broad gauge line does not allow the supply in the former volume.
In case of the continuing of the bad weather, tensions are expected."

Point 1 of day report 19.10.1942

Further continuing rain and snow fall have fully paralysed the supply traffic between Tschir and the corps.
AOK attempts to maintain the transshipment Tschir-Loschki with the tractor company which is at the supply commander. The buidling of Panje columns at Tschir is ongoing.
The supply with flour and fodder creates particular difficulties. By the preferential transportation of ammo and fuel, fodder trains have been absent so that difficulties are to be expected. Added to this is the impossibility of sufficient transport forward to the divisions.
Ammo consumption was lower than on earlier days because of the lower combat activity caused by the weather."
