Re: Logistical data 6 th Army Fall Blau
" Telex
From AOK6/OQu to 1)OKH /Gen.OQu
2) Command center B OKH/Gen.Qu
3) chief of staff AOK 6
Day report 5.8.1942
Supply situation
High volume of firing at XIV Pz AK and VIII AK caused by strong enemy attacks.
The ammo stocks in the main types of ammo which were being filled up have therefore decreased again.
Filling up of the 1.Ausstattung until 6.8 evening only possible to ca 70% when enemy attacks and high volume of fire keep up.
Fuel situation improves gradually . Because of too late arrival in Millerowo of expected fuel trains , the fuel quantity in delivery will only reach the troops in the course of 7.8.
The evening of 6.8 the fighting troops of all corps will have one VS. Between Army depots and div. issuing points there is 7.8 from 1/2 to 1 VS.
Contrary to the order of the GenQu at Millerowo on 30.7 the 22 Pz div. arrives on 6.8 without fuel in the Army area. "

Day report 6.8.1942
Supply situation
In the main types of ammo the corps dispose of sufficient stocks. There is scarcity of l.F.H. 18 and 10 cm Kan. , fast supply is urgent here
The inflow at Millerowo in no way corresponds to the needs of the army. Of the promised 5 trains by command center B (2 fuel, 2 ammo, 1 rations) until now in the highest case 3 arrived daily because it seems the transshipment Ostrogoshk-Jewdakowo cannot perform more.
In addition, the trains arriving from Jewdakowo are not composed neither by urgency nor uniformly
The Army needs as a minimum daily 2 fuel trains with 1000 cbm because otherwise the need in the advance can in no way be covered. Only with increase and methodical management of the transshipment O-J can the Army be correctly supplied.
Army will start at XXIV and XIV Pz AK with 1,5 to 2 VS "

2) Command center B OKH/Gen.Qu
3) chief of staff AOK 6
Day report 7.8.1942
Supply situation
High volume of fire which however can be covered from Army stocks.
The arrival of fuel in Millerowo is so insufficient that the achieving of the objectives set for the troop is put into question in the next few days. To execute the further operations 1000 cbm fuel daily are absolutely necessary in Millerowo so that the daily consumption of 1 VS(2730 cbm) can be covered.
For the 8.8 200 cbm fuel by airtransport is requested to Liposkij.
AOK 6 asks, that:
a) the loading of the supply trains in Jewdakowo is regulated by an officer of the general staff according to command viewpoints(at the time it is deceptive - 3 fuel trains arrive in Millerowo; however the trains only had 11,21 and 16 waggons).
b) the line Lichaja-Stalingrad immediately passes in buiding and exploitation of the Kodeis 6, so that this important lifeline of the AOK can be utilized as fast as possible(on the bridge eastward of the current endstation Porschin at 7.8 no work is done). "

3) chief of staff AOK 6
Day report 8.8.1942
Supply situation
High volume of fire as high fuel consumption mainly with XXIV and XIV Pz AK , and VIII AK.
The volume of fire can essentially be covered from the arriving ammo quantities. Early arrival of KwK ammo necessary because stocks of the Army are running low.
The fuel supply of the Army is still insufficient. From 3.8 to 8.8 have arrived in Millerowo 2338 cbm Otto and 469 Diesel = 2807 cbm.
Thereby 1 VS was delivered tot the Army in 6 days, a quantity of fuel which can never be considered as sufficient for an offensive operation but at most is sufficient for a static operation.
By the command center were promised for the 3.8 3 trains, for the other days 2 trains each = 13 trains = 6500 cbm. AOK 6 therefore has received 3700 cbm less than the promised quantities.
The quantities arrived at Millerowo on 8.8 were not sufficient to completely fullfill the needs of XIV Pz corps. Therefore AOK 6 has requested air supply of fuel for 9.8 and requests urgently for execution because otherwise severe crisises can be expected at XIV Pz corps. "

From AOK6/OQu to 1)OKH /Gen.OQu
2) Command center B OKH/Gen.Qu
3) chief of staff AOK 6
Point 1 of day report 9.8.1942
Supply situation
The volume of fire was somewhat lower than on earlier days.
However, a shortage of ammo for s.art. (10 cm kan. and 21 cm Mörser)has made itself felt which cannot be remedied by forces of the Army.
The fuel situation has worsened again. By the delaying of the transports to Tazinskaja and by the constraint to fill up the 22 Pz div. from Tazinskaja , the feeding of fuel to XXIV Pz corps and LI corps is insufficient. The filling up of 24 Pz div and 297 . div. whose release has to be expected, is probably not possible before the evening of 10.8 .
The inflow in Millerowo did also on 9.8 not meet the needs of the Army. Again it is urgently demanded to take care at transshipment point Jewdakowo that fuel is transshipped preferentially before other supply goods so that the Army can count with 1000 cbm daily in Millerowo. .. "

Point 1 of day report 10.8.1942
Supply situation
Volume of fire was also high on 10.8 . Still lack of ammo for the heavy artillery(10 cm Kanone and 21 cm Mörser) as in ammo for Nebelwerfer. The volume of fire for the main ammo categories could also on 10.8 be covered from the arriving ammo quantities.
The fuel situation is still tight. By the from 11.8 to be expected somewhat richer inflow of fuel to Millerowo , the fuel situation will relax somewhat in ca 3 days. To prepare and execute operations, the continuous inflow of at least 1000 cbm daily to Millerowo is of decisive importance.
On 10.8 no rations at all arrived in Millerowo. Because the Army depends in increasing measure on ration supply , because the troop does not find anything anymore in the forward steppe area, it is urgently requested to regularly move up up ration goods to Millerowo."

2) Command center B OKH/Gen.Qu
3) chief of staff AOK 6
Point 1 of day report 12.8.1942
Supply situation
Volume of fire low.
Because of the misrouting of a ammo train from Kursk to Stalino intead of Ostrogoshk, the urgently needed 10 cm Kan., 21 cm mrs. and 15 cm Nebelwerfer ammo does not arrive in time at the troop. Supply column capacity to bring these categories of ammo quickly forward from the Charkow base is not available at the moment. Air transport was refused by command center B. AOK 6 requests that command center B moves up the urgently needed ammo to AOK 6 by a special action, because otherwise the Army artillery cannot be used anymore.
The inflow of fuel to Millerowo and Porshin was sufficient also on 12.8.
In total only 1300 to supply goods arrived today in Millerowo. Rations have again not arrived. The Army is already since 9.8 without rations.
Deficiency of vehicle spare parts , tank spare parts and accessories takes threatening forms. Since 2 months AOK tries to remedy this.
The future lifeline of the Army, the rail line Lichaja-Forschstadt-Morosowskaja-Stalingrad is at the time developed by Kodeis Pzaok 1 , whose AOK has no interest in this railroad track.
AOK requests that Kodeis 6 to which at the time missions have been given in the army areas of the italians and hungarians, is as soon as possible used for the supply railroad of the 6.Armee and for the construction of the field railroads in the area of the Army and the there deployed forces are subordinated to it.
Since 14 days OQu has no possibilities to consult with Bv.T.O. 6 and Kodeis 6."
