Mostly of the german troops fighting against the Ghetto upraising were not at all germans, but allied; ukrainian and so on.

It would be interesting to know their losses too.

(but the jews did´nt had a lot of weapons, mostly pistols and some grenades (most easy to sneak in...).

Yes, but the only source of this battle is the "Stroop Report" by Jurgen Stroop.

The witness talk about hundreds of german died in combat, the first day circa of 40 soldiers.

But I think this is a high number of german died. In the first pages of the Stroop Report are the complete list with name and details about the Units, etc.

Best,
Yes, agreed. Everyone involved has reason to manipulate the figures either up or down depending on motivation: Stroop to minimise his casualties and exaggerate the numbers of Jews killed or captured. The Jews to exaggerate the numbers of Germans killed to make the uprising seem more heroic in the eyes of history.

Stroop's number does, on the face of it, look ridiculously low. On the other hand, it's hard to say what he was willing to risk by forwarding outrageous lies to superior officers.

Yes xcalibur I agree.

I read the interesting book "Interview to a Executer" the memories of a polish journalist who live with Stroop one year in a polish jail.

In this book Stroop just talked about the SS Obersturmführer Demke like the worst lost in the Aktion. If you make the review of the Stroop´s files in Digital Wiesenthal´s Files in motloc website, there you can see the requeriments of Stroop to awards and the only requeriment to post-humus promotion was to Dehmke, nothing more.

Then, the casualities most be soldiers, I mean privates not NCO or Officers, but in a lot quantity that the Stroop´s reference. In the Guetto had been guns, explosives, grandes, etc. Is obvious the level of casualities.

Best,
