The destroyer logs didn't survive.
The enemy had superiority in numbers, his tanks were more heavily armoured, they had larger calibre guns with nearly twice the effective range of ours, and their telescopes were superior. 5 RTR 19/11/41

Hi,

According to ADM 1/10507 not 4 DD otherwise 12 DD. Just DD Dainty and Diamond were with the main fleet, the others on antisubmarine duties
