Gunboat G BIGLIERI?

#1

Post by nicknobbyclark » 05 Dec 2006, 14:32

Looking for anything regarding the GIUSEPPE BIGLIERI or G BIGLIERI

So far this is all I have is as follows:

Originally built as a Fishing Vessel (MERLUZZO) and built by Deutsche Werft, Finkenwerder launched 2.10.1924. MERLUZZO was renamed GIUSEPPE BIGLIERI in 1933 Apparently taken over by the Italian Navy and armed as a patrol vessel (Gunboat?)

She was scuttled at Massawa 8.4.1941 but salvaged by the Allies and would like to know more about this and her use in the Royal Navy as HMS BIGLIERI

Any help would be much apprieciated

Thanks Martti

I found the details on Giuseppe Biglieri useful.

The web site you provided the link for was an interesting one too.
