Dear cardo,

thank you for interesting pictures of CASABIANCA and other memorial plates concerning WWII!

Would you be so kind and write something about commemorative places on Corsica about WWII?! Where to find museums, monuments, old gun positions or airfields, etc.

PS.
There is already topic about that - http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic. ... 86&start=0

Thank you cardo for the link - though there is one small problem. On the site you have linked there should be photo of CASABIANCA's Jolly Roger which is missing (404 - Not Found).

Do you know where I can find picture of this Jolly Roger?!

Thank you cardo! :D

The red bar stands for sinking on 22 XII 1943 German UJ 6076 (916 t).
The white bar stands for damaging on 28 XII 1943 Italian steamer CHISONE (6 168 BRT).
The red star and guns stands for alleged sinking of German UJ 6078 (398 t) on 10 VI 1944 but in fact CASABIANCA only damaged by artillery UJ 6079 (850 t) a day earlier.

An overhead view of a B-24 Liberator during an attack on the port of Bastia, the main German escape route from Corsica. The bright Mediterranean light has produced sharp shadows on the aircraft, but also obscured the nose details, making it impossible to identify the exact model of aircraft.
