The enemy had superiority in numbers, his tanks were more heavily armoured, they had larger calibre guns with nearly twice the effective range of ours, and their telescopes were superior. 5 RTR 19/11/41

I think it's a pretty unique view from the perspective of a senior Italian commander, and useful considering how much of Axis Africa is still viewed through the Rommel lens.

Thanks for this, been reading it with great interest. An important bit of background info to keep in mind while reading the report is that Navarini and Rommel liked and respected one another.
