Can anyone place the II Battaglione Contro Carro Divisionale in Ariete prior to October 1941?

Thanks in advance.

David.

No I can't. The 1 November 1941 OB states that the II btg. c.c. had only two batteries and was missing the HQ. The Ariete had three cp. c.c. in April 41; two of these belonged to the regg. bers., while the third was the divisionale cp. c.c. I have always assumed that the II btg. c.c. was formed using units already present in A.S., but I haven't tracked all the cp. c.c. to see if this works. In Nov, the OB states that the regg. bers. stil had its two cp. c.c., so I assume the third cp. c.c. was one of the companies in the II btg. c.c. ; the second came from a cp. c.c. already in A.S. Comando Supremo was shipping a number of 47/32 guns during this period, so it possible that the second company and HQ would come from the madrepadria.

I have always wondered where the I btg. c.c. was assigned. I have never found it.

Hello Jeff.

Thanks for that.

I understand that the two c.c.c in the Bersaglieri Reggimento were 132o and 142o. And that the Divisional Compagnia was 72o.

I don't have either numbers of the Compagnia within the II Battaglione Contro Carro Divisionale

Kind Regards,
David.

Yes, those are the cp. c.c. I have in my sources. I assume that the two cp. c.c. in the II btg. c.c. are simply 1ª and 2ª. The question is whether they are new companies or just existing companies renamed when the unit was created.
