UK Troop Strength Middle East - 28 June 1942

Post by Tom from Cornwall » 24 Jul 2020 19:37

Hi,

I thought this table of estimated troop strength of British Commonwealth and Allied forces in the Middle East on 28 June 1942 might be of interest. It's taken from UK NA WO201/1963 (Evacuation from Egypt) which details planning made by GHQ ME in the summer of 1942 for a retreat from Egypt into the wider Middle East.

I guess that it wouldn't take into account casualties from Battle of Mersa Matruh.

Regards

Tom

Thanks for this document, but what means R.A.F.? Is not the UK Air Force included in "British"?
