Captain A MacLennon's walk from Benghazi to Sollum May 1942

Post by Sheldrake » 06 Nov 2020 11:58

The draft text of the history of the RA in the Mediterranean says
'25th Field Regiment (12/25th and 31/58th Batteries) under Lieutenant Colonel HCW Eastman was at Sollum on 25th May [1942] when Captain A MacLennon rejoined having walked 350 miles from Benghazi!'
Does anyone know the background to this feat?
