Brandenburger photos?

#1

Post by wargamingUSA » 09 Feb 2022, 23:23

Hello All,

I am looking for photos of Tropical Kompanie and Kustenjager personnel operating in Tunisia and The Med.
They seem to be few and far between and I appreciate anything that points me in the right direction.

Thx in advance.

Check the books by Tony Rogers on the operations in the Dodecanese in autumn 1943 (Churchill's Folly and Swastika over the Aegean). A picture of Lt. von Koenen is here:

The enemy had superiority in numbers, his tanks were more heavily armoured, they had larger calibre guns with nearly twice the effective range of ours, and their telescopes were superior. 5 RTR 19/11/41

There are photographs of the Kustenjaeger in Schenk's book on the Aegean. Oddly they are in typical tropical uniforms but with Waffen-SS pattern helmet covers.
