Syrian campaign 1941: armistice info needed..
Hallo all,
On July 14th 1941 the Armistice of S.John of Acri was signed between Vichy forces and British-Frenc forces in Syria.
Just a question: were also other treaties in Istanbul in July with german delegates?
I found this document from british sources..
Many thanks in advance

Seems a misunderstanding it doesn't concern at all the armistice of Saint Jean d'Acre and further negotiations but simply the members of the "Armistice Commission" refering to the Axis control commissions in French territory such as Syria-Lebanon
it is just because Germans and Italians commissions and staffs in Syria-Lebanon took refuge in Turkey in july 1941

Is it possible to know more about this German refugees in Turkey ?
I suppose they were the delegates that left Syria just after the British military campaign start?
Just because Meyer Ricks and Rahn spent a long period in Syria during the campaign with a secret military mission to support especially the Arab groups and the Vichy forces, so I wonder if this is the reason why it is named in the British source I posted above…

My father-in-law was there in that campaign,I asked him about Turkey, said they were right on the border, met some Turks there and didn't have complimentary things to say about them.
