I can read Italian. It would be interesting to see how many sunk by submarine, surface forces, a/c, mines.etc. Can you post images? If no, I understand.thanks for replying

Oh, no problem at all. I have plenty of spare time and not much to do right now. It is better for me to translate and post it here, for two reasons: the USMM book is old (1960s) and some causes of sinking have since been amended, so I can make corrections; and by translating and leaving it here it may be useful for others in the future.

Many many thanks. Interesting how many were to torpedo bombers vs. surface ships. Submarines as expected the majority. I recall a British author regarding a Malta based squadron which carried out night attacks on shipping. Many victories. Frustrating because he did not footnote it so we never knew the exact dates of all the successful sorties to check against records.

The records are pretty complete in the archives and can easily be checked against this list. There is a good bit of over claiming. https://rommelsriposte.com/2018/03/24/c ... en-convoy/

The first convoys were German steamers Brook, Trapani, and Jädjör on 23 and 24 June 1942, together with a number of MFPs.
