Nazi era decorations allowed post-war in Bundeswehr?

Where former Nazi era officers/soldiers allowed to wear combat decorations in the newly reconstituted military?

I was watching Great Tank Battles and the episode about Ludwig Bauer, so naturally looked him up and see him in post-war Heer uniform with his WW2 decorations? photo from the 70s I think it is.
