Yes, there seems to be little interest in this thread lately.
But it's your turn now.

Thanks Ironmachine

Hoping the interest will return, I'll post this next one.

An English fort far from home. The lighthouse built in 1785-88 is still there.
And so is the bottom casemate built some 20 years later.
Any idea where?

Guess I'll have to correct the spelling

See above dear Tirdad.

Already done, just waiting for someone
to show some interest in the fort.

Yes indeed!
I've known of the island of Anholt for
the past 40 years or so but only recently
discovered it was occupied by some 400
Royal Marines (british redcoats!) during
the napoleonic wars.
Well done again Ironmachine, over to you.

This is the current appearance of a castle that was originally built in the 12th century, though it has suffered several major and minor reconstructions/modifications. During the Napoleonic Wars, it was the scene of a battle/siege.
Where is it?

Either the castle or the battle, any of those names would be enough.
A British general was captured in that battle.

The battle involved, among other things, an amphibious landing, a naval bombardment, a siege, forces of (at least) four different nationalities, and a heavily outnumbered force winning the battle.

Major Johann August Heinrich Heros Von Borcke.
On the Southern side, surely one of the most interesting German figures was JEB Stuart's aide, Major Johann August Heinrich Heros Von Borcke. A tall, handsome blond young man in the German ideal, Von Borcke came from an old Prussian military family of the titled nobility. [...] Von Borcke returned to Prussia and served his native land in a war with Austria in 1866; to his amusement and pleasure, the famous Austrian military genius Helmuth von Moltke greeted him with the words, "Are you not the American?"
