Samantha Smith, the Girl Who Went to the Soviet Union

Post by Princess Perfume » 15 Jul 2016 14:55

I've contributed substantially to Samantha's article on the English Wikipedia.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samantha_Smith

to me, her story seems all the more tragic because it feels unfinished. Although i agree with scholar David Tenner, that had Samantha lived, she would have been forgotten after the end of the Cold War, except for occasional "where are they now?" pieces in the media.

Anyone here remember Samantha and her visit to the Soviet Union?

They should have just pulled the trigger and done that TV movie about her. No network was interested in the script, reportedly because "there was not enough conflict". Um, isn't that the point of her story?
