I don't know how much Ivan's Oprichniki went to influence Hitler's SS, but it went far in influencing later tsarist secret police, and ultimately Stalin's NKVD. It is well known about Stalin's admiration for Ivan's iron hand, so much so he ordered the production of Eisenstein's "Ivan the Terrible" film, and wrote how much he looked up to "his teacher" in the columns of the movie script when it was sent to him for approval.

I have heard it argued that both the SS and NKVD were inspired by the Oprichniki, but I haven't really looked into the former to have conclusive proof.

Igree that they were influenced by the Oprichniki (?). Just like Francois Duvaliere's Ton Ton Macoute wore Black uniforms, influenced by the ss maybe?
