Chinese and North Korean Offensive Code Names

Post by Robert24 » 13 Jul 2009 02:18

All;
Does anyone know the code names for Chinese and/or North Korean offensives during the Korean war?
I’d really like to know the October 1950 and January 1951 Chinese offensive code names.
Thank you for any help.

Hi Robert, the Central Military Commission of the CCP named the Campaigns that the Chinese People's Volunteer Army involved in Korean War in a plain way without any "code names", translated in English and presented as below:

1950.10.25 - 1950.11.05
The First Offensive Campaign

1950.11.25 - 1950.12.24
The Second Offensive Campaign

1950.12.31 - 1951.01.08
The Third Offensive Campaign

1951.01.25 - 1951.04.21
The Fourth Offensive Campaign

1951.04.22 - 1951.06.10
The Fifth Offensive Campaign

1951.08.18 - 1951.11.30
The Defensive Campaign of Summer/Autumn 1951

1951.12.00 - 1952.08.00
The Position Consolidation Campaign of Spring/Summer 1952

1952.09.18 - 1952.10.31
The All-Fronts Fast Tactical Counter-Attack Campaign of Autumn 1952

1952.10.14 - 19592.11.25
The Battle of Shangganling (Korean: Sanggamryong, English: Triangle Hill)

1952.12.09 - 1953.05.00
The Anti-Amphibious Preparatory Operation

1953.05.13 - 1953.07.27
The Counter-Attack Campaign of Summer 1953

Hope above can meet your request and per any questions of specific battles or details, pls let me know.

Rgds, Jon
