Good morning all,

Article per title.

IMPORTANT: Article transitions to the present. Please ignore the current material. We're only working history here with our definition being nothing as recent from 20 years ago to today's date.

Note the intro paragraph's "total exports recorded". All is not recorded. The petroleum industry is famous (infamous?) for this. The International Trade in Arms (ITAR) must also be mentioned.

"Trade pacts in order to avoid future wars" ?! Isn't OPEC a trade pact ? Wasn't COMECON ?

The article's charts are great ways to graphically present the material. They are however, entry-level. The absence of the Bermuda Accord (post WWII civil aviation agreement) and the EU's "CAP" - Common Agricultural Policy does parallel the Simon and Garfunkel song "The Sound of Silence".

.......

Meanwhile, back to studying the pre-1900 opium trade......................
