The review's lead paragraph is subject to dispute - unless it's a typographical error. After WWII, circa the 1945 atomic attacks, and well until 1947, there were Cold War "activities" going on.

Not familiar with "a fledgling democracy in the Congo".

Che Guevara is rightly famous for his iconic picture with the beret. It's all over the place.......on T-shirts, posters, .....etc. When he was President of the Bank of Cuba and Director of the Cuban Ministry of Industry, rather than thinking of economic development, think of, well, think of the Congo.
